Don't Eat the Hook

Good afternoon!

I check Blogger daily anxiously awaiting an entry posted by friends I don't get to see often, friends I've never met in real life, or even people I see daily.   But, many days, I don't post myself.  Well, today I've had some inspiration.

Is it possible to have a non-gastronomical pregnancy craving?  I haven't been craving any food in particular.  However, I cannot stop thinking about crocheting.  Crocheting is my pregnancy craving.  And yarn is my crack.  I mean, I assume this is what withdrawal feels like.  I've never actually tried any hard drugs.  But I got a new skein of yarn today and all I can think about it looking at it and touching it.  I like to think about where it came from (Tennessee) and the person who dyed it (Miss Babs).  I am strange.  But I can't help it.

I bring my current project wherever I go in the event that I'll have two minutes to do a few stitches.  I feel like I'm committing adultery on my scrapbooking tools and paper but I don't even think about them anymore.  What is wrong with me?

And let me clarify, I actually have three current projects.  I'm working on two baby blankets and one baby sweater.

Here is the yarn I will use for the sweater which will begin on Thursday.  The ball is actually quite large although the picture doesn't show it.

My newest stash: Miss Babs Yowsa in Denim

This is the baby blanket I'm currently crocheting.

Lastly, here is a baby blanket I started circa 2006.  You read that right, about 5 years ago.  As you can see, it was knitted and I've forgotten how to do that, so my first step is to relearn that skill.  Secondly, I need to decide if I want to make the rest of the squares in the cream I've been using or in another color.  And finally, I need to knit it and stitch them together.  Perhaps I will finish by 2012.
