Anniversary Weekend

I have to take a quick, sappy moment to write about my anniversary weekend.  It was fabulous.  And, we didn't really do anything.

Saturday, June 11th

We got up very leisurely compared to our normal 5:30 am alarm.  Like, I believe we stayed in bed until 8:00.  It was great.  I'm a morning person but still appreciate an extra few hours of lazy time.

Bacon was cooked up for breakfast with some eggs and toast.  My eggs had jalapenos in them.  Score.  I would have been happy with that for my entire anniversary weekend.

Then, C put together the bookshelf for my new scrapbooking room the guest room.  Once we started putting together the nursery, we had to move all my scrapbooking supplies out.  The bookshelf is going to help me organize them in my new scrapbooking room the guest room.  This was also a mega win for me and I would have been happy with this as my anniversary present.  C was talking about signing me up for the TLC show Hoarding: Buried Alive, but now I think I've been saved.  I even caught myself having some Hoarder tendencies in this situation, but I couldn't help it.  Regardless, all is well now.

After - I think this pic is so funny.  Once I've organized, I'll post another.

We caught a matinee of Pirates of the Caribbean: Stranger Tides.  Again, I'm not sure why these movies are so fun to me.  They're not the best but I just love them and this one is included.  Additionally, I was wearing my Pirates of the Caribbean: Stranger Tide nail polish colors in Mermaid Tears and Skull & Glossbones.  Oh my god.  Yes.

For dinner, we went to Bilbo Baggins.  We had been there one year ago for our rehearsal dinner.  It was delicious, as usual.  C had one of their fabulous draft beers and I rocked a Shirley Temple.  And this year, we didn't get a parking ticket!   This was followed up by cones at Scoop Grill, by far my favorite ice cream shop.

Sunday, June 12th

This is our actual anniversary.

I had to run to church.  It was graduation Sunday and I was bringing the cake and a slide show.  I'm not sure why all this graduation hoopla was way fun to me, but it really was.  There was some drama, but all prevailed.  I used PhotoStory 3 and Snagit to make the video.  I'm taking a year of leave next year for the baby, but I'm so in love with this software, I'm considering going back to work right away just so I can still have access.  Ok, not really, but I really do love these two programs.  Feel free to have a watch.  Or not.

Allison and me after church.  This picture doesn't do justice to how pregnant we are.  But, you can kind of tell.

I met up with C afterwards at the marina and we went to lunch.  He walked back to the marina and I went to my work baby shower!  This was so wonderful it's going to be another post all it's own.

I came home exhausted and took a nap after showing C what a lucky boy Ben is that his Mommy has such wonderful work friends.  We finished up our anniversary weekend by grilling some filets and asparagus.  Yum.  I'm so lucky.

  1. Your anniversary weekend sounds amazing and low key. And your work shower looked lovely as well. You (er-ben) are really lucky! Can't wait to see you later this month. Xoxo
